Privacy Policy
The short version: aurowa has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or location. Your game progress lives on your phone. Like most free games, the app uses Google services for ads, analytics, crash reports and purchases; you can limit ad personalisation and turn analytics off at any time.
1. Who we are
aurowa (“the app”) is made by novoverse (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the data described here. Questions or requests: support@novoverse.app.
2. What stays on your device
Your levels, stars, coins, hints, unlocked items and settings are saved only on your phone. Android may include this file in your Google account’s encrypted device backup (Android Auto Backup) so your progress survives a new phone or a reinstall; you control that in your Android backup settings. The optional daily reminder is scheduled on your phone; no notification server is involved.
3. Data collected through third-party services
| Data | Collected by | Why | Optional? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID, device information, IP address, ad interactions | Google AdMob | Showing and measuring ads, preventing fraud; personalised ads only with your consent | Personalisation is optional |
| App usage events, device model, OS and app version, approximate country (from IP) | Google Firebase Analytics | Understanding which levels and features work, so we can improve the game | Yes, turn off in Settings |
| Crash logs and device state at the time of a crash | Google Firebase Crashlytics | Finding and fixing crashes | Yes, follows the analytics setting |
| Firebase installation ID | Google Firebase (Remote Config, App Check) | Delivering game settings and protecting our servers from abuse | No, needed for the app to work |
| Purchase token, product ID, order ID | Google Play Billing and our purchase-check service (Firebase Cloud Functions and Firestore) | Confirming a purchase is genuine and granting it exactly once | Only if you buy something |
| Device integrity verdict | Google Play Integrity via Firebase App Check | Protecting purchase checks from abuse | Only when a purchase is checked |
We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, precise location, photos, files, messages or health data. We never sell your personal data. Analytics never includes free text or anything that identifies you by name.
This website sets no cookies. If enabled, it uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or any identifier that tracks you.
These services have their own privacy policies:
- Google (AdMob, Play): policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from partner apps
- Firebase: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
4. Ads and your choices
The app is free and supported by ads shown between levels and by optional reward videos you choose to watch. Ads never appear during a puzzle.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: on first launch we ask for your consent using Google’s consent tool (IAB TCF). If you decline, you still get the full game with non-personalised ads.
- US states with privacy laws: you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for advertising.
- You can change these choices any time in Settings › Ad privacy options, and reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.
- Buying Remove Ads turns off ads between levels; reward videos stay available as an option.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
We rely on your consent for personalised ads and for analytics where the law requires it; on performance of a contract to deliver and verify purchases; and on our legitimate interests in keeping the app stable, secure and free of fraud.
6. How long data is kept
- On-device progress: until you reset it or uninstall the app.
- Analytics events: 2 months at event level, then only aggregated reports.
- Crash reports: as set by Firebase Crashlytics (currently 90 days).
- Purchase records: 3 years, for fraud prevention and accounting. They contain a one-way hash of the purchase token plus the order and product IDs, nothing else.
7. Your rights and how to delete data
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Brazil’s LGPD or India’s DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Because there are no accounts, most data is never linked to you, and you can act on it directly:
- Game progress: Settings › Reset progress, or uninstall the app. Backup copies can be removed in your Google account’s backup settings.
- Analytics: turn off analytics in Settings. This also clears the analytics identifier on your device.
- Advertising: Settings › Ad privacy options, or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Purchase records: email support@novoverse.app with your Google Play order ID (it starts with “GPA.”) and we will delete what we can and tell you what we must keep by law.
We reply to requests within 30 days.
8. Children
aurowa is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Google and Firebase may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on approved safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
10. Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Purchase checks run on our own server with access limited to that one task, and the purchase records cannot be read by the app or by other users.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app uses data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also let you know in the app.
